Sometimes there are no HPV symptoms present when one is infected with the human papilloma virus. That is why this is the most widely spread STD ( sexually transmitted disease ) in the world. A carrier of HPV can go their entire life without showing symptoms and can therefore spread the virus to many others, who may also not have any HPV symptoms, and so forth and so on. The main HPV symptoms that people worry about are genital and anal warts.
The problem with calling HPV Genital Warts is there are hundreds of different HPV strains and only a few of them are responsible of causing genital warts. Genital warts can show up as small lesions on the skin, and can at times be red or gray. They can also be large and in clusters or have a cauliflower-like appearance. There is no cause for worry if you are diagnosed with warts. These warts can be treated and your doctor could give you options for treatment. There are different treatments for genital warts. However, there is no cure for the virus that caused the warts. Once diagnosed with genital, the virus will stay in your body. Therefore, it is very important to have protected sex always. The use of condom lessens the risk of spreading the virus. However, it does not give complete protection because it does not cover all genital areas.
HPV infection is the most widespread sexually transmitted disease today. Millions of people have the disease and those who don’t develop genital warts don’t even know they have it. As a result, they inadvertently spread the disease to other people. Since this disease is transmitted through anal, oral or vaginal sex, the genital area is commonly affected. However, be aware that all types of skin-to-skin contact could also result in contracting the virus, so using a condom would not lessen the risk of becoming infected.
